George Sousa Jr. is the President of Mariani Packing Co., Inc., a global dried fruit manufacturing family business headquartered in Vacaville, CA. As a 4th generation family member, George has been with the company since 1982, and has managed all aspects of the organization during this time. As President, he is responsible for executing the company’s five-year strategic plan, in addition to continuing the family culture of the business that has been built over the past 118 years. Prior to assuming his current role of President, George focused his efforts on the sourcing of products worldwide, key customer contracts, strategic sourcing relationships, as well as growing the company’s cranberry business into the largest independent handler in the world. He is the chairman of the CA Prune Board Executive Committee, and actively involved with the Raisin and Cranberry Marketing Committees.
George graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1982 with a degree in Agriculture Business Management. He also completed the Harvard Business School Owner/President Management Program in 2004.
