Maureen Ternus, MS, RDN, is a registered dietitian and has worked with the INC Nutrition Research & Education Foundation (INC NREF) since 1997. As its Executive Director, she was involved in securing one of the first qualified health claims for nuts and heart disease in the US. She coordinated the “2007 Nuts and Health Symposium” in Davis, CA, which provided direction for future nut research. Ms. Ternus has overseen more than 28 INC NREF-funded research projects on nuts and health, including the nuts and all-cause mortality study from Harvard, published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2013. She authored “The Everything Vitamins Book” and has contributed to numerous publications including the Nutfruit magazine.
