Gunjan Jain, Managing Director at VKC Nuts Pvt. Ltd, has been spearheading growth in the four generations’ old family company engaged in trade of Nuts & Dried Fruits since 1926. Gunjan took over the reins of the company in mid-nineties when it was still a very small entity & “Kashmir Walnuts” was the primary business. From there, he helped VKC nuts to grow into India’s Leading Nuts & Dried Fruit Company in all verticals, be it Imports, Exports, Processing & Wholesale, Modern Retail, Online & Retail Trade.
When Indian Nuts & Dried Fruits market was limited to Cashews, Almonds, Pistachios and Raisins, and nobody was prepared to risk beyond what existed; Gunjan’s appetite for risk and passion for Nuts & Dried Fruits, led him to swim against the tide, giving himself to experimentation by introducing several other Products in the market. Today, VKC is proud to have the distinction of Introducing California Walnuts, Cranberries, Blueberries, Hazelnuts, Pecans & Spanish Corn Nuts for the first time in Indian Market.
Walnuts however remain a passion for Gunjan, being the largest in VKC portfolio & VKC being the largest in Indian Market. He proudly refers to Walnuts as running in his blood.
