Jill entered a career in the Advertising in South Africa and then subsequently in London in the 1970’s. She returned to South Africa and married a macadamia farmer and became involved in the marketing and business side of the industry.
She was a driver in starting the first privately owned macadamia processing factory Green Farms Nut Company in 1990. She served on the South African Macadamia Association Board and was also Chairman. In 2009 Jill co-founded Green & Gold Macadamia, a marketing joint venture between Suncoast Gold in Australia and Green Farms Nut Company, South Africa, with the vision to consolidate supply chains, to service customers in the most cost effective and risk free environment.
She is currently a Director of Green and Gold Macadamias and is the Executive Chair of Green Farms Nut Company. The Whyte family are still growers and processors of macadamia nuts in South Africa.
