Women’s Economic Empowerment through Cashew Processing (WEECAP) is a West Africa–based cashew sector platform operating in Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Guinea-Bissau. The initiative focuses on strengthening sustainable value creation across African cashew supply chains by supporting processors, producer organizations, and service providers. WEECAP promotes food safety, traceability, responsible labor practices, and environmental performance in line with international market standards. The program emphasizes circular economy opportunities, including improved processing efficiency, reduced post-harvest losses, and valorization of by-products such as cashew apple and nutshell liquid. By fostering standards-driven upgrading and inclusive participation of African actors, WEECAP contributes to a resilient, transparent, and sustainable cashew supply base, enhancing Africa’s engagement in global nut and dried fruit markets.
