Wessel Lemmer is the Chief Executive Officer of Raisins SA, the South African industry body representing approximately 700 raisin growers and advancing a globally competitive value chain. Appointed in January 2025, he leads initiatives across market access and development, research and technology transfer, governance, and transformation programmes. An agricultural economist by training, his career spans more than 30 years, beginning with an M.Sc. Agric from the University of the Free State. He has held senior roles at Grain SA, Absa, and Agbiz, specialising in agricultural market analysis and value-chain strategy. Based in Upington, at the heart of South Africa’s raisin production region, Lemmer champions a differentiation-led approach that positions South African raisins around premium quality, sustainability, and traceability for global markets.
